ABOUT THE INTERNATIONAL CREDIT TRANSFER PROGRAMME
- UPES Global Pathways Programme is a step towards giving exceptional international experience to students. Under the Global Pathways Programme, students have the option to complete a certain portion of the course at UPES, and the balance at our academic partner universities in the UK, Germany and Australia, subject to completing the eligibility criterion of the academic partner universities.
- The programmes at UPES are carefully synced with those at academic partner universities, to ensure that aspects of study are not repeated and students gain the advantage on academics. Upon successful completion of course at the Partner University and complying with all academic criteria, the student receives a degree from the international partner university.
- The extensive curriculum, experiential learning, and globally-recognized academic practices at UPES facilitate seamless credit transfers to top-ranked international academic partner universities at an affordable cost.
- The Department of International Affairs (DIA), UPES, facilitates the credit transfer process. Upon completion of studies at the partner university, the students can apply for a post study work visa, based upon the requirements of the destination country..

Q 1: What is International Credit Transfer Programme?
The International Credit Transfer Programme is a pathway that provides international degree opportunity through credits transfer and recognition facilitation to the students with select international partner universities. Students will be required to meet the entry and eligibility criteria of the international partner university.
Q 2: Who is eligible for International Credit Transfer Programme?
Students from select undergraduate and postgraduate courses are eligible to apply for the international degree opportunity. These routes are predefined based on course length.
Q 3: Do the students of UPES need specific grades/scores in Years 1 and 2 to qualify to study at the partner university?
The students should have completed Years 1 and 2 of the selected course at UPES with at least 6.0 CGPA, to apply for the programme. A student’s entry is also dependent on backlogs. A student with a backlog will be granted conditional admission. However, entry/academic requirements are subject to revisions and are at the sole discretion of the partner university.
Q 4: What is the level of English language proficiency required for the Programme?
Our international partner universities accept Academic IELTS 6.5 (with a minimum of 5.5 in each component). Some of our international partner universities may also waive off this requirement at their discretion or subject to students’ performance in Class-XII.

Q 7: Which university or institute will award the degrees to the students?
The students will be awarded the international degree from the partner university on successful completion of the course there.
Q 8: When can a student decide to opt for the International Credit Transfer option?
The students can confirm their interest in the programme in Year 1 so that they can have various interventions like grooming as per the requirement of the partner university, interaction with officials of partner university whenever they are on campus, and support for English language and any other areas required. However, the students will have to satisfy the entry/academic requirements of the partner universities.
Q 9: What are the entry requirements for the partner universities?
Besides the Academic and IELTS score, students shall have to furnish the following documents and attend a personal interview:
- Statement of Purpose (SOP): The statement should be a 500 to 750 word overview of the applicant's academic and professional accomplishments and should demonstrate a high level of interest in and a highly developed understanding of their choice of course. Q 11: What will be the tuition fee for the partner program?
The fees of the year of admission at the partner university shall be applicable.
Q 12: Who will take care of the visa?
Students will be required to obtain the necessary Student Visa for studying at the partner academic university. UPES will assist by providing the necessary supportive documents. The university shall not be liable for any delays, application rejection, or visa rejection. For Australian universities, the visa will be processed by an authorized Australian immigration agent as per the Australian immigration laws.
Q 13: What will be the role of UPES in the entire process?
UPES will facilitate the enrolment of students in the partner academic universities, subject to students fulfilling the eligibility and entry requirements.
Q 14: What if the visa gets rejected or student changes his or her mind?
The student has the option to completing the course at UPES.

Q 16: How do we apply to the partner universities?
Students will be notified by the Department of International Affairs (DIA)Office, UPES regarding the announcement and the application procedure. Students will be required to submit their interest in the international degree opportunity once announced.
Q 17: What are the advantages of going through UPES?
There are a lot of advantages of going through UPES:
- You complete only a half-tenure of the course at the partner university, and you get an international degree (through International Credit Transfer)
- You are spared entry-level tests like SAT/GRE
- Most of the partner universities give special partnership discounts if students apply through UPES. Students will get a discount of 12% to 25% off their tuition fee.
- Seamless credit transfer from one campus to another, proper support and guidance are provided to the student.
Q 18: Who will bear the travel and accommodation charges?
Selected students will bear their travel and accommodation expenses. Additional expenses to be borne by students. You can refer to individual university websites for related information.
Q 19: What are the expenses involved in studying at a partner university?
Every student will also have to consider both study costs and general expenses.

Q 20. Will the students be allowed to work along with studying at the partner university?
Yes, the students can work along with study. International students registered on a full-time education course lasting at least one academic year can work part-time. Students having a visa can work:
- Up to 20 hours per week during university semesters,
- Full-time during vacations.
Q 21: Will the students get Post Study Work Visa?
Yes, the students will get International Post Study Work Visa.After completing the degree, the student will be eligible to apply for a Post Study Work Permit, which is up to two years. It may vary from country to country. With a work permit, the student can live, study, work temporarily and bring immediate family members to stay with them.
Q 22: What will be the placement support given to students if they choose to/must come back to India due to unavoidable circumstances?
If in case, the student comes back to India after completing graduation/post-graduation at the partner university, he/she will get full placement support and benefits from UPES, as alumni of UPES
